Moments that matter

Victorian Premiers Design Awards Yearbook: We made it!

We are honoured to be featured in this year’s Victorian Premiers Design Awards Yearbook for two of our projects; TEDxMelbourne ‘Rebels, Revolutionaries & Us’ and TOM Organic ‘Empowered Women Empower Women’. After attending the Awards night in Melbourne last week we feel truly inspired by the breadth and depth of Melbourne designers & creatives.

TOM Empowered women, Empower women.

Our concept focused on bringing TOM’s story to life through a series of animated line drawn illustrations. We commissioned Scarlet Thorby-lister to create these creative assets. She’s best known for her work at the Equality Institute, therefore, she’s a veteran of female empowerment. The seamless use of the singular line allowed the animation to flow organically, breaking the boundaries of animation to creative emotive storytelling.

Animation may not change the world, but powerful messaging might just.

TEDxMelbourne: Rebels, Revolutionaries & Us

We urged the community to generate their own rebellious ideas. We did this by building a digital platform that reinvented traditional site comments. Asking individuals to contribute without pretext, we asked our audience the question of “What does our world need most right now?”. Creating this anonymous sharing feature allowed community interaction, encouraging more people to share genuine thoughts, and tweet their response to their own micro-community. Using all the captured data we’ve designed an immersive environment for the audience at the event itself. Involving the audience so heavily in all aspects of the experience is the most important feature of this brand identity.

Ultimately, you can’t have a revolution without the people.

Thank you to all the passionate thinkers & doers involved and may 2018 bring experimental design to the forefront.
