Our dream collaboration with the Victorian Women’s Trust—Madam Speaker—has won gold at the 2025 World Design Awards in the Digital Education (EdTech) category. This global recognition builds on our Gold win at the Australian Design Awards, reinforcing the power of purpose-driven design to drive real change.

This award celebrates not just the innovation behind Madam Speaker but also its broader mission: to amplify women’s voices, challenge historical gender biases and end the invisibility of women in leadership.

What is Madam Speaker?

We may be biased, but Madam Speaker is more than just an archive. It’s a movement.

As Australia’s first digital archive of women’s speeches, Madam Speaker is reshaping the public record by ensuring that women’s contributions across politics, STEM, culture, and the arts are preserved, celebrated, and accessible to all. With over 200 powerful speeches and counting, it is a growing resource designed to inspire and educate.

Combining storytelling, activism, and technology, Madam Speaker is built for exploration. As an open-source platform, it invites the public to contribute their most impactful female-led speeches, ensuring that women’s voices continue to shape advocacy and education for generations to come.

From seamless navigation to top-tier accessibility, every detail was crafted to inspire users to explore, learn, and contribute. More than just a digital experience, Madam Speaker is proof that thoughtful design can drive real change, turning recognition into action, and innovation into impact.

Thank you

This win wouldn’t have been possible without The Victorian Women’s Trust. We also want to acknowledge the women whose speeches fill the archive. They are the voices that have shaped Australia’s history and will continue to inspire future generations.

What’s next?

The journey for Madam Speaker is far from over. With over 2,000 users already engaging with the platform, we’re working toward curating 800 new speeches in the archive by 2026. Together with our partners, we’re committed to growing this vital resource for education, advocacy, and cultural research.
