We were approached by the non-profit organisation, Victorian Women’s Trust to design and develop Rural Women Online (RWO) which would act as a central hub for fast-tracked access to three things; training, support and mentoring. The “Rural Women” project marks the second phase of ‘Rural Women Online,’ extending its reach by taking digital skills training on the road.

The campaign included a vibrant and inclusive brand identity designed to engage and empower women in rural communities through a comprehensive communication strategy.

Education and support for women who reside in rural and remote Victoria —

In the last two years, evidence has emerged outlining the critical barriers encountered by women living rurally and remotely that are impacting their online presence and participation. Lack of digital ability is one of them. From a number of workshops, we learned that since COVID-19, a lot of these women were experiencing feelings of loneliness and inadequacy from not being able to connect with their loved ones or find employment after losing their jobs.

The campaign’s vibrant and inclusive brand identity was carefully crafted to evoke positive emotional responses and create a strong connection with the audience. The visual design was not only aesthetically pleasing but also functionally effective, making information easily accessible and engaging for all participants.

Building on the success of phase 1, RWO has become a platform for connection, knowledge, and safety.

Celebrating All Women, All Tech. —

The vibrant and inclusive digital platform that served as a central hub for event information, resources, and ongoing support was supported by local talent and participants of the RWO community. This platform was designed to be user-friendly and accessible, with a vibrant aesthetic that reflected the campaign’s brand identity.

The imagery captured authentic scenes of women engaging with technology, redefining what ‘women using tech’ looks like and providing relatable role models for future audiences.

The brand kit that we developed enabled the RWO team to activate in-person digital help desks with impact.
