A full digital platform redesign at a pivotal moment in its growth. Synthesis Capital is a specialist venture fund backing the founders, scientists, and technologists reshaping how the world produces and consumes food. With a second fund on the horizon, they came to Your Creative at a pivotal moment. Their existing site, built in 2020, had not kept pace with the organisation.
The new platform needed to carry the full weight of who Synthesis is: intellectually serious, commercially rigorous, and genuinely excited about the future they’re investing in.
The challenge —
The $10 trillion food system sits at the intersection of technology, sustainability, and commercial transformation. Synthesis had spent years developing one of the most informed perspectives on it, but its digital presence wasn’t reflecting that depth.
The challenge was to surface Synthesis’s perspective and make it felt: to build a platform worthy of the science, the founders, and the conviction behind the fund.
The process —
We conducted in-depth interviews with scientists, analysts, and principals across the UK and USA to understand how these stories were being told, and where they could go further. That research fed directly into the content architecture, messaging hierarchy, and creative direction.
From there, we developed a dual-audience platform architecture to serve two distinct journeys: founders exploring Synthesis as a potential partner, and institutional investors evaluating the fund.
Scrollytelling as an argument —
The centrepiece is The Opportunity: a long-form digital storytelling experience taking the reader through the state of the food system, the forces transforming it, and why now is the moment to act. Data on land use, water consumption, and livestock emissions are set against the technologies making transformation possible.
Custom illustrations, embedded expert voice notes, and portfolio company video give the content texture and humanity. Subtitles were built into the voice note and video components to ensure the experience is fully accessible regardless of how or where someone is listening.

Portfolio storytelling —
Each portfolio company, from Hyfé turning waste carbon into usable carbon, to Redefine Meat engineering a new product category, to Culture Biosciences putting bioreactor labs in the cloud, received its own dedicated page, with rich imagery, voice notes, and writing that captures each founder’s singular proposition.
Digital brand uplift —
A refreshed digital brand system refined the graphic language and UI treatments while preserving the existing colour palette and typography. The result is a platform that feels like the organisation it represents. The full site was rebuilt on a custom CMS (Sanity), giving the Synthesis team a flexible, maintainable platform to grow with. Under the hood, Lenis, GSAP and Lottie were used extensively to deliver a performant, engaging experience across all devices.
